Baked Arepas are a healthy and very tasty way to enjoy Venezuelan cuisine, with one of your favorite dishes. The oven gives it a different flavor, besides being toasted on the outside and very soft on the inside.You can fill them with whatever you like, I hope this recipe is to your liking. We recommend that you serve it hot for a greater enjoyment.
Preheat the oven to 200°C. Mix the precooked arepa flour, warm water and salt in a bowl.
Knead until a homogeneous dough is obtained.
Divide the dough into equal portions and form small balls with each portion.
Flatten each ball into a disk shape with a diameter of approximately 15 cm.
Place the arepas on a baking sheet and cook for 15 to 20 minutes or until golden brown and crispy on both sides.If you want more spectacular arepas, we advise you to pass the arepas through a budare or griddle to form a shell on both sides, then take them to the oven.
