This recipe uses rice that you have stored in the fridge from previous meals. The first thing to do is to place it in a container where it can be kneaded. If it is hard and compact, we crush it with our hands to make it loose.
Add the water, salt and finally the precooked flour. We join all these ingredients and begin to knead until we have a consistent and smooth dough.
Divide the dough into 4 portions and make the balls that will form our arepas. With both hands we take each ball of dough, turning them and pressing them to flatten them, until they take the shape of an arepa.
Place a frying pan or budare over medium heat, when it is hot place the arepas. To prevent them from sticking, we can spread a little butter before placing the arepas. Cook for about 6 minutes per side.
We take out the arepas, open them to place butter and fill them with your favorite ingredient.
